What Are The Brown Spots On My 9 Years Old S Scalp?
I have a 9 year old with brown spots on his scalp. Some are very dark (flat) some are lighter (flat) and some are pinkish and raised that appear to be like flesh bumps. None are larger than the size of a pencil eraser, but all but 1 (which has grown) have appeared in the last few months. We do battle with psoriasis on his scalp, but these do not appear to be in the area of those lesions. I have an appointment with a Dermatologist in October, but that seems so long to wait.
There are two possible causes of such lesions. It may be melanocytic nevus which are benign proliferation of pigment producing cells. It could also be seborrheic keratosis which have a characteristic stuck on appearance. If they are not increasing in number and size you shold not worry about it. Regards
