What Are Some Complications Post Surgery Of Inguinal Hernia?

Due to an inguinal hernia, I just had surgery this past Fri, Sep 9, to repair it using a mesh. There s some pain and stiffening (when I walk), which I expected. However, my scrotum area has been at times getting a purplish color at times ... esp. after sitting for extended periods of time at computer desk or watching TV. Is this normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, there sounds possible issue with orchitis in which you get bluish-purple discoloration of scrotum during prolong compression while some position.

Immediately consult your surgeon and discuss the need for an ultrasound for further definite cure and management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
