We have a deep fryer and were cooking fried chicken. I walked away for about 5 minutes and when I reaffirmed it was smoking and smelled like burned plastic. I had inhaled some of the fumes and my eyes started burning, my throat was selling up as well. Could I have breathed in toxic fumes , and I'm not sure if we should consume the chicken.
