Two weeks ago I fell and significantly injured both knees. Extreme swelling occurred. X-rays were negative for breaks. I am now fully mobile, but both knees still have moderate swelling, significantly reduced since the event, but both knees are still quite sensitive to the touch. I have stopped putting on ice packs because they do not seem to reduce the swelling any further. Should I continue the ice pack therapy? How long might I expect it will take to eliminate the swelling and touch sensitivity? The episode happened in Massachusetts, but I am now home in Naples, FL, so I cannot visit the doctor who originally treated me.
Thanks for your help.
