Treatment For Extremely Enlarged Tonsil And Crohn S Disease

I had a FEES test done & it showed an extremely enlarged right tonsil. I was referred to an ENT & he did a scope in his office & could not see what the written report showed. I have Crohn s disease & have had swallowing issues for nearly a year. After several calls between the three doctor s they ve decided a CT Scan is in order. Will it show the enlarged structure even if for some reason it isn t as inflamed at the time of the study?

General Surgeon 's  Response
hi dear thanks for the query on HCM

1. do you have symptoms of difficulty of swallowing now?
2. ct scan will assess any space occupying lesion in the throat, but a MRI would be better as soft tissue involvement is assessed and it is free of radiation.
3. get your blood checked to rule out any infective/inflammatory process.
4. crohns is a disease which affects from oral cavity to the anus. hence any surgical intervention if required should be taken in the inactive phase of the disease.(remission phase)

thank you
