Toe Swollen After A Hit. Used Ice. How Long Will It Take To Heal?
Was walking in the house and accidently hit a wooden plank on the floor. Didn t think much of it thought it was okay but later in the night the last toe was swollen with the lower section of the foot . This morning I have put ice to suppress the swelling it has gone down a bit now it is still swollen. Like to know what else can I do or take to reduce the swelling.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for writing your query After going through the mode of injury I suspect a fracture of little toe this needs to be confirmed by x ray. Meanwhile keep on doing the ice fomentation, limb elevation, hold the 4th and 5th toe together with cotton bandage (strapping).Take ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrypsin to reduce pain and swelling under medical guidance. Take care Regards Dr.chugh, orthopaedic surgeon http://bit.ly/drmchugh
