Three Years Ago I Had Hiatal Hernia Surgery, Two Thirds

Three years ago I had hiatal hernia surgery, two thirds of my stomach had moved up behind my heart. I experienced left shoulder pain almost immediately , when I asked my surgeon at my post op appointment he said he had no idea and never heard of that. Over the years it has come and gone . The last three weeks I have it every time I eat or drink something . ( I am currently recovering from meniscus repair surgery ). I recently had my yearly exam and that doctor put me on Gabapentin 2 times a day for nerve pain and that is not working. Please I need answers. At least I am alive ( doctors tell me I could have died from the hernia since it was so bad),what can I do, what can be done, what is causing the pain ?
