This Morning I Read In The Pet Connection Column That

This morning I read in the pet connection column that cats should eat wet food + some kibbles. My cat is now 16 yo. She was 11 months when I got her and weighed 10 1/2 lbs. I fed her kibbles from a feeder whenever she wanted + one fancy feast size can each day. She always weighed 10 1/2 lbs. never gained, never lost. About 2 years ago she started throwing up the wet food about once a week, then increasing to more often. Eventually I just stopped the wet food, and she stopped throwing up. About 6 months ago I noticed that she drank an excessive amount of water so I thought she may have a kidney problem. took her to the vet who confirmed my diagnosis, but also wanted to do tests for diabeties, cancer, and on and on. I just took her home. She does not appear to be in distress, but weight has dropped to 9 lbs. Your opinion about diet. She seems unusual In that most of my cat owning friends, will eat and eat, howl to be fed, learn to open the cabinet where the food is and on and on. My girl only eats when hungry. Your thoughts please.
