Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The nodule on my thyroid is over 1 cm and biopsy shows it's the fellicular type (hope I have that word/sp correct). Surgery to remove half the tyroid is recommended due to this type, size and that this type has a 15% chance of milignancy. I suppose I'd rather know and be gone with it even if it proved out to be benign than live with the what if. So, I wonder then, what will life be like with half a thyroid? What difficulties may I expect if any? Presently, I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. thank you.
