Taking Clonodine Patch. What Is The Best Place To Put It?

Hello. I take the clonodine patch. Where is the best place to put it? I know that it needs to be on the upper arm or chest. I have been on it for two years and I always put it on the left side. My skin has darkened and I don't feel like its working. Is it important to move it? Can I also put it closer to the shoulder? Thank you!

HI...Thanks for writing to us.Clonidine patch usually applied at upper ,outer arms or upper chest. There should be no tight clothing over the patch ,also area should be dry ,clean and hairless. It should not be applied where skin is cut ,abraded or shaved also do not apply if skin is wrinkeled. It seems you have devolped contact dermatitis due to constant application of patch over same site,so it will be better you can change the spot ,you can put it on right side on same area or move closer to shoulder. It is also provided with a cover and you can apply it on the patch if it is loose.
