Swelling And Redness With Pus After Cutting Nails Too Short. Absence Of Epsom Salt, Peroxide Of Neosporin. What Is The Other Solution?
Hello. I just would like to know a few things. I bit my nails too short( I know bad bad habit) and now have a swollen red, and pussy infection in the side of my nail bed. I squeeze the puss out of it(very runny and clear) and have been told to use Epsom salt to heal it! I however do not have Epsom salt. My friend says table salt will do, all I have is a chunky type table salt and it has no label. So I'm not sure of its sea salt or regular table salt! My question is should I use the table salt? I want relief and have no health insurance so I can't see a dr. At the moment.. I don't have neosporn or peroxide because I'm not home I'm at a friends house. Please help! I'm also a worry wart! :(
Hi, From history it seems that youmight be having bad nail bed infection. I do not think any salt will work in this condition. Go for proper dressing after cleaning. Apply any antibiotic cream available. You may require one course of antibiotic to clear the infection. Ok and take care.
