Suggest Ways To Wean Off Antihistamines While Dealing With Severe Allergic Reactions

What is the best way to wean yourself off of OTC daily allergy medicine? I have read that the metallic taste in my mouth could be caused by these OTC antihistamines and would love to not take this medicine daily, but every time I try to stop taking it, I have a histamine reaction and am unbelievably itchy. Is there a way to wean myself off gradually so when I stop taking the medicine completely I don t have these reactions?

hey,
What you can do is start montelukast tablet 10mg at bed time daily along with antihistamines. use it for 2 weeks together, because it take that much time to start its action completely. Then after 2 weeks, start weaning off antihistamines. you would not have reaction.

Get well soon.
