Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Stretch marks/ striae, are due to rupture of
collagen framework in the dermis as a result of stretching of skin e.g stretch marks are common in
pregnancy as a result of increase in abdominal girth.
Stretching can be due to weight gain, muscle building/ body building, pubertal growth spurt etc.
Stretch marks cannot be reversed completely, however they can be improved.
Topical
tretinoin is usually prescribed by
dermatologist for its collagen remodelling properties. Tretinoin also induces synthesis of new collagen as well.
Results are noticeable after months of regular use but are never complete.
Besides topical tretinoin procedues like
dermaroller can also be undertaken to stimulate synthesis of new collagen in the area bearing stretch marks and fill them up to an extent.
I suggest you to visit a dermatologist in your region for more details and appropriate treatment, regarding your skin problem.
