Hello and welcome to HCM,
Excess of carbohydrates in any form leads to weight gain and thus risk of many metabolic and life style diseases.
Sugar is a form of carbohydrate which adds to calorie intake but does not have any nutritive value.
Thus, the excess of carbohydrates in diet should be avoided.
More of proteins, fiber rich foods and fluids should be added in diet.
In addition, light to moderate regular exercise should be included in routine.
Exercise can be in the form of jogging, dancing, sports etc.
Obesity should be avoided in childhood and adolescence since it can lead to many diseases later in life.

Thanks and take care
