I have recenly noticted my 57 year old sister. sucking as to keep spit from expelling out of mouth. when I pointed it out her... she had no idea that she was sucking it? Is me me or does she need treatmemt she very imbrawssed now that I pointed it out. she crazy healty .... was it casing this. No smoking, no drugs no alchol. just getting old

The excessive salivary secretion can be because of many reasons like any teeth infection, or gum infection or it can be secondary to improper swallowing threshold. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. If there is gum infection you need to get the teeth cleaned. If there is tooth infection, you need to get it treated. If there is excessive saliva from the gland itself then you can take drugs like atropine. But these drugs can reduce the salivary secretion markedly and may result in dry mouth.
