Suggest Treatments For Depression

Hello Sir I am from Tamil Nadu.I need an urgent treatment details for my old father.He was suffering from some mental disorders.Before 5yrs he lost his pension amount 5 lakhs which got from his office for my sisters marriage. someone has cheated my father.from that day onwards he was felling very bad & also we sold our house for her marriage.Now he was suffering from mental disorder.we taken him for treatment for many hospitals in my home town there they cannot able to cure him.some doctors suggested that he was having a blood fuctions in brain are not good. what can i do please reply me,and also please tell me how much of money needed to cure him and moreover how long time it takes for treatment period.

Your father developed symptoms after losing huge money due to cheating by someone. This has resulted in development of depressive symptoms and probably he is in acute stress reaction though detailed evaluation is needed to make diagnosis. Such type of symptoms are commonly seen in individuals after some important loss be it financial or personal. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist for him to improve his situation. Counselling by a therapist will also help him to come out of trauma.

Medicines like low dose benzodiazepines as Etizolam, Clonazepam can help to reduce the symptoms of anxiety in such case and will help him. SSRIs are antidepressant drugs that can be used if symptoms persist and get worsened. Medicines like Sertraline, Fluoxetine etc can be used for his depression. Visit a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.
