Suggest Treatment To Reduce The Effects Of Chickenpox

Hi I ve had a tummy tuck 7 weeks ago and I m recovering well. However two days ago a relative came to visit me and her son has chickenpox. I m not worried that I will have it too because I haven t had it before and had no vaccination Can you please give me advice about how it would affect my recovery and if there s any supplements I should take to reduce the effects of chickenpox. I m drinking green tea and honey and multi vitamins on a daily basis. Should I continue or discontinue using them Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You will be infected only if you touch the wet crusty lesions of chicken pox from a patient, that too only in few patients. There is nothing to worry. You can discontinue honey , tea and multivitamins as they are of no help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
