hello.. im a doctor myself but i have made some very poor choices in my personal and professional life.. the result is that i hqve very limited job opportunities and those that are there i do no t like but feel forced to do.this has lead to sadness and some depression but im functional although i feel im simply existing not living. I feel i wasted all my education and training by my bad choices which seemed fine at that time but turned on me later. how do you think i should handle my situation
I may not be the right person to advice you on this. You can't go back change your past actions. Try to accept the situation and live with it. Do not think that you are useless. Life can change at any time. Wait for that. You need not to be a doctor to live a good life. Yes, you have earned a degree. Laws may prevent you from doing what you know but they cannot snatch your knowledge. You are still a good person because you know what you dis is wrong and repenting over it. Problems are temporary. Everyone in this world has one or the other form of problems. Take for example I was recently diagnosed with Syringomylia in the cervical region. I have this severe pain in my back all the time. But if I start complaining about this I will lose my important time. Learn to accept the reality and continue with whatever you have. Watch some good movies. Read some good books. Get yourself engaged in one or the other activity. You are perfect. Everybody commits mistakes. Learn from your mistake. Pick yourself up and keep walking. Avoid taking any anti-depressants. I was on them once in my life. They makes you sick. Instead find ways to keep yourself happy.

Hope this helps you doctor.

All the very best doctor.
