Suggest Treatment To Cure Blood Clot On Upper Lip

Hey I have a huge blood clot on my upper lip from since I was young I fell pretty hard and my mom was told to wait until I was older so they can operate so now I am 23 and I want to go for an operation, will it be expensive as I believe it s just a minor operation

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of blood clot on upper lip which could be due to persistent infection of hair follicle due to certain irritation. It could be due to dehydration and excessive sun exposure and along with that due to viral infection of upper lip leading to cold sore formation. I would suggest you to apply petroleum jelly over the lips. Apply aloe vera gel as well to maintain moisture of lips and prevent them from drying. You can go for cosmetic surgery intervention as well only after proper prescription by doctor. You should apply topical steroid drugs to prevent hair follicle infection and take oral and topical antiviral drugs in case of cold sore. Do not bite on the lips as it leads to exaggeration of symptoms. Consult a dermatologist once and get evaluation done. Go for patch test, virus culture and blood test. Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration. Maintain basic oral hygiene.
