Hi, I pulled my calf muscle 10 days ago during an intense dance class. I clearly felt the pop in my muscle and an intense pain on my calf that made me stop dancing. Next day, I went to the emergency room and after a light revision the doctor said it was not serious. He suggested to rest my hurt food for at least two weeks. Four days after the injury, I was able to stand on both feet without any pain so I thought I was doing great and decided to start walking without crunches- I only walked twice during the day, around 50 feet each time. The next day, I woke up with some pain on my calf. The pain was exclusive to a single point on my calf. With the days the pain has being getting worse. I can barely sleep during the night because of the pain. My calf is slightly swollen and it gets really cold. I am using a warm pad and gentle massage with an over the counter cream. The pain is worse when I get out of the bed or sofa and i feel some relief when I put my feet higher than my body- now, the pain feels like a cramp, but it is located in the same exact point where I felt the pop and pain the first day I got injured . I have not tried to walk without crutches any more. I have been in bed rest all these days. Did I hurt my calf muscle again? Could it be a cramp? Do i just need to continue resting my injured calf? Please help. Thank you. Sandra
