Suggest Treatment Of Swelling Eye Of A 3 Year Old

My 3 year old fell down the stairs 3 days ago and he had a very big bump on the left side of his head as a result. the previous day he had hit his head in more or less the same place on his bed. His behaviour has been normal, only he woke up this morning and his left eye had swelling on the top should I be concerned?

Hello. Thank you for your question. This is a very common occurrence in most homes. Firstly, you don't have to worry about any internal injury. The swelling is expected. We typically recommend applying ice were a cool compress to the injury immediately after it happens. Once we are 24 hours out, there's not much point to that. It will heal over time. If he is experiencing any pain, you can treat him with ibuprofen.
