General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.

Arip is Aripiprazole which is an anti-psychotic medicine. I assume your son has a condition which requires Aripiprazole.

Anti-psychotic medications need to be taken for as long as prescribed as abrupt stopping it may give rise to unwanted symptoms or reappearance of symptoms for which it was started. Hence, I suggest you continue the medicine and donot stop it.

I am afraid I cannot help you with the drug stores in Malaysia, but you can try asking for the generic name of the medicine i.e. Aripiprazole. It may be available under different brand names in the place where you reside.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr Geeta
