Hello,

I can understand your concern. In the form of Percocet, you are taking opioid (Oxycodone) and nonopioid (Acetaminophen) painkillers together.

While Acetaminophen is a nonaddictive drug, Oxycodone is opioid and so addictive. As you have been taking several doses of this medicine in a day, your body is used to the effects of the drug and stopping it cold turkey is giving you the symptoms you are experiencing. These are called withdrawal symptoms.

I would advise you not to stop the medicine cold turkey and reduce the amount of dose along a longer period of time. You can reduce the dosage and then can stop it gradually. Alternatively, you can consult a physician who can decide the dosage for you, taper for you and can also help in dealing with any withdrawal symptoms. For now, you should continue with the medicine and the withdrawal symptoms will disappear.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
