Suggest Treatment For Weak Easily Breakable Teeth

Hi...since I was in the hospital in 2013 for 4 months my teeth though previously pretty healthy are breaking turning brown with decay and falling out. Even a crown fell out with the attached root canal. I am disabled and looking for help I can afford. Which isn t much. Any ideas as to why this is happening, and solutions would be appreciated. I am 59. Thanks.

Hi..
Welcome to HCM..

As per your query turning brown of teeth along with breakage with a history of hospitalization for 4 months is indicating towards poor maintenance of oral hygiene and due to this there has been excessive plaque accumulation over the teeth along with increased infections and finally there is deep decay and breakage of teeth..

As of now it seems that the condition has become severely progressive and simply taking home care measurements will not resolve the problem and you need to consult a dentist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and get x rays of the decayed teeth done..

In case of those teeth that have superficial decay can be treated with fillings by removing the decayed portion and placing tooth coloured fillings and capping of teeth..

In case of teeth with deep decay either root canal treatment or extraction of teeth followed by placement of artificial teeth is an option..

But you should not delay as it will lead to progressive decay and loss of teeth..

Hope this information helps..

Regards.
