Hi,

I have to do a detailed history from you including current other complaints present and past illness current medications current occupation followed by a detailed physical examination then current imaging tests like leg blood vessel Doppler study pathology tests including urine test ECG etc.

Before that, I suggest management which is not easy. Having diagnosed your condition I would treat accordingly. See your doctor. Anyway, treatment is to treat the cause. It could be renal, cardiac, hepatic problem, varicose veins, peripheral vascular disease, obesity, hormonal problem, diabetes, knee and hip arthritis.

Temporary treatment include fluid restriction up to a point, leg elevation, compression bandaging, mild diuretics, calf muscle exercise. Refer to a vascular surgeon. This needs follow up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Law, General & Family Physician
