Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I think she has probably developed
stretch marks, which are due to breakdown of
collagen meshwork.
Stretch marks are usually felt as a gap on running fingers over them.
One of the cause of developing stretch marks is Oral
steroids, which she may have been prescribed for her eczematous condition on fingers.
Oral steroids are commonly prescribed in a lot of eczematous skin conditions and may cause cutaneous side effects like weight gain,
acne, stretch marks etc if continued over a long duration Or if repeated course are given.
Stretch marks are permanent and it is not possible to erase them completely. Therefore, it is important to address the causative factors e.g Oral steroids to prevent further progression.
She may use
tretinoin 0.05% cream once daily at night. Tretinoin has collagen remodelling property and may improve the appearance of stretch marks somewhat but not very significantly.
