General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Warts are caused by HPV infection. There are different types of HPV causing warts in the genital area and different ones that cause warts in other areas.
Sometimes, HPV from warts in other areas of the body can be spread in the genital area (this is very rare), but they are generally not considered as dangerous as warts caused by genital HPV.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
