Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took a cordizone shot this morning and my blood sugar is still over 400. I take Lantus but haven t taken it tonight. I took 4 mg of Glimpiride several hours ago. I do not have any regular insulin. Can I take metformin in addition to the Glimpiride. And should I go ahead and take my lantus?
It depends upon your type of diabetes. You should have mentioned it as type 1 or type 2. And yes your blood sugar level is very high. If it is type 2 then you should take merformin with glimeperide and if it is type 1, insulin should be started on regular basis. Consult your diabetologist for prescription.
