Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Itching

My 5 year old daughter has been suffering with vaginal itching for six months. I ve been to two pediatricians and verbally consulted with my own gynecologist (she did not see or examine my child). We have tried everything we can think of but nothing has helped. Changed detergents and soaps. Stopped baths (only showers). Treated with Diflucan and Bactriban. Very good hygiene. Tried several different antihistamines which did not stop itching. Please advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
The itching your child has might be because of dryness & change in normal vaginal flora of vagina because of all the ointment you are using.
Give her bath with simple glycerine soap. Get her locally examined by a doctor, with local swab microscopic examination, if necessary.
Oral medicines like Metranidazole will help in curing the problem.
Apply metranidazole local ointment with a dot of steroid cream & moisturizer would help.
Thanks
