Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Itching With Foul Odor
I ve been experiencing some vaginal itching and a odor for the past few weeks... no discharge. I bought a yeast infection pill thinking that was the issue. I haven t taken them consistently to see results yet. But, when I tried to douche after my period it burned really bad. What could be going on?
If there is an odor, it is possible that it may be related to bacterial vaginosis (BV) , not yeast infection , though some persons can have both.
Yeast infections however, do not usually cause an odor though itching is a symptoms.
BV can be treated orally or topically. Topically with metrogel, orally with metronidazole and tinidazole. The oral treatment is usually one off treatment.
These medications usually require a presecription from your doctor.
I hope this helps
