Suggest Treatment For Upper Abdominal Cramps

Starting late last night I have been experiencing upper abdominal cramps and beginning this morning once I drink any water I immediately have to use the restroom (diarrhea). The cramping stops when I am sitting still and not moving much. Food tends to make me feel worse and brings on the cramping as well.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a gastroenteritis which is an infection of the intestine. I suggest using over the counter medications to treat diarrhea such as Imodium. I also suggest using daily probiotics. I recommend to use spasmolytics such as Buscopan to relieve the stomach cramps.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
