Suggest Treatment For Tightness, Hardness And Stomach Ache After Fall
I fell yesterday, I am 23 weeks pregnant and few hours after my fall my stomach began to hurt, it got rock hard and tight which I have never felt before. It eventually subsided but this morning I have a terrible head ache and cramping when I stand. Is my body reacting to my fall is that why I was having contractions hours later? Could I have caused damage in any way? Is there any way to know if I did damage that needs to be taken care of immediately?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. To have a strong uterine contraction after the jerk of fall, is the natural reaction. But to have cramps after nights rest is a bit alarming. Three indicaters for grave trauma to pregnancy must be marked,viz- - constant pain in uterus/ repeated contractions, - blood/ watery discharge through vagina, - less fetal movements. You should rush to doctor & get yourself if you find either of these. Even if there is no grave sign,it's better to consult your doctor & get satisfied. Thanks.
