Suggest Treatment For Throat Discomfort And Difficulty In Swallowing
I m 21 years old, 6 2 200 lbs. and am 6 days post-op from a splenectomy. I woke up this morning feeling as if something was lodged in my throat. It is very irritating and I am unable to swallow it or cough it up. I m not sure what it could be but it s very irritating and makes me very nauseas. It almost feels mobile but never moves enough to relieve my discomfort. What can I do to get some relief from this? Do you have any idea what this could be?
Is it sudden onset? since from post operative day onwards are you suffering?
It may be pharyngitis or acid reflux. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. In splenectomy patients are prone for infection with capsular organisms like hemophilus, pneumococci or gonococcus etc. So it is better to get vaccinated. Please consult with your physician / ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
