Suggest Treatment For Swollen Painful Elbow Post Injury

My husband fell and broke his ankle and hit his elbow. The elbow is swollen and warm to the touch. It only hurts if he pushes up on it when he s asleep. We have shown the ortho doctor and he said ice it and the swelling will go down. It s not going down, but is getting bigger. What do you suggest? We go to the Ortho doctor Tuesday for a check on his ankle.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. If swelling is not reducing then you should approach your orthopedician for aspiration of joint. Aspirations and local anesthetic will help him get better. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks
