Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Node In The Neck

Hello. I have pain under my ears where my mandible is. I think its associated with my tonsils, i have pain when swallowing. Also i have a cervical lymph node swollen on my left site, when i see my tonsils in the mirror they look red. Also the lymph node has been swollen for months and the first time it got swollen it was before the last time i had acute tonsillitis, How do i know if i have chronic tonsillitis?

Hi,
You might have ottis media with recurrent tonsillitis and swollen lymph nodes.
This is commonly due to acute viral infection
(adenovirus,rhinovirus) or bacterial infection etc.
You will require oral antibiotics (quinolones or macrolides or cephalosporins) to prevent superinfection with analgesics and antiinflammatory with other supportive treatment.
You can do certain tests like routine blood counts and thoroughly ENT examination.
So,better you see an ENT surgeon and get treatment.
Thanks and regards,
