Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Node At The Back Of The Head
Hi. About a month ago or so I had a large sudden lump come up just above my hairline at the back of my head which was tender. It went down after a few days but still remained a small lump but with no pain. The lump had remained but is starting to feel painful again. Its not swelling up though. My sister is a health care advisor and said Its probably a swollen lymph node. Should I go to the doctor?
noted history of lump at the back of your head. yes, it may be a swollen lymph node (or a cervical lymphadenopathy), which usually occurs after a recent infection. other things that may be considered are: follicular reaction that got infected, cystic formation, lipoma or fibroma. it is best if you consult with a doctor, preferably a general surgeon, for physical examination and clinical evaluation. diagnostics and management (medical and/or surgical if indications are found) will be directed accordingly. avoid manipulation of the area. maintain a good hygiene.
hope this helps.
good day!!
