Suggest Treatment For Swollen Fingers And Hand After An Injury

My son fell last night while riding a scooter. He hit is elbow. He indicated it hurt but did proceed to play football and basketball during the evening. He complained of it hurting before bed. There was about a 4 inch red line on his elbow at the time. He woke up this morning with fingers and hand swollen and very sore. Could he have cracked his elbow?

There is chances that he may have had such injuries. I would suggest you to get x ray of his hand and also elbow so that diagnosis can be made. Till that time do not do any massage or rubbing. Voletran ointment can be applied and so is compression bandage . Ice application will also work. Keep finger moving and do not keep elbow hanging as it can increase swelling.
