Suggest Treatment For Swollen Feet When On Epitec

Hi I am 47 years old and I am on Nuzak and Epitec for depression. I am not certain if Epitec is the right medication for me. Also I noticed that since I started taking Epitec my feet became swollen. Not sure if that is causing it. The doctor said that its weight gain and not water retention. The thing that depressed me the most was my weight. I was on Ciplarex for years and put on a lot off weight. That s when the doctor changed my meds to Nuzak. I just need something to keep me relaxed or else I become stressed when things don t go according to plan. Its like a touch of compulsive disorder in a mild form. Do you think that Nuzak alone will solve my problem?

Hello
Welcome to HCM.

I understand your concerns.

If the reason of switching cipralex by nuzak was only due to weight gain and you were having good response to cipralex, then I think nuzak alone is sufficient for you.

Nuzak is a good antidepressant however it may take around two weeks to show its effects.

I do not think there is need of epitec (lamotrigine).
The swelling which you are having is most probably due to epitec.
I think this drug should be withdrawn slowly.

Discuss this with your doctor.

Thanks.
