Suggest Treatment For Swollen Cheek With Pus

I'm on antibiotics for my infected tooth. I have had the abscess drained by a dentist but it swelled up significantly afterwards. since starting the antibiotocs the swelling has gone done a little but the 'pus' in my cheek causing the swelling has become hard. no real pain. Just a hardened bump
Question: Will the antibiotics return the cheek to normal or will I need to have it drained

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your query if you have a dental abscess then taking antibiotics along will not resolve the infection completely and getting the pus drained is a faster way to get rid of infection..

You should consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and an x ray will be taken for looking for the exact condition of tooth..

If tooth is in a condition to be saved ROOT CANAL TREATMENT followed by a course of antibiotics and painkillers will resolve the swelling as well as save the tooth..
In case if infection is extensive, extraction is advised..

You can revert me back with the scan of x ray and ask me a direct question by clicking on my profile at HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I will guide you appropriately by seeing the x ray..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
