Suggest Treatment For Swollen Ankles And Legs

My ankles and legs stay swollen. Today, they are really swollen. i work at a nursing home as an activity director and the nurses say they are very concerned..I m really scared. Seems to worsen if I drink an occasional beer on the weekends? Does this mean something is wrong with my liver? I feel I drank more water daily than most people. I am 64 years old but have passed for 45 to 50 as far as facial features and body structure in general.
