Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Shin

My son got kicked in the shin in football practice a couple weeks ago. His shin has swollen up with a goose egg bump. The bump has not gone away and now my son says there is tingling/numbness in his foot. Is this common? Should I worry? I m going to get it checked, but don t want to sound neurotic over a bump on the leg. Thank you.

Hello,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your son got injured his shin a couple weeks ago.Now your son is having tingling/ numbness in his foot.It may be due to entrapment of one of cutaneous nerve in scar tissue. It is not common but may occur . It will gradually resolve. Mecobalamin may help in resolution of it. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
