about a month and a half ago my friend and i where destroying things and the metal i was using flew out of my hand and hit my ankle. for about two weeks the surrounding area was swollen and painful but know where i hit myself i have developed a hard a solid lump. the lump feels hard like a bone so im not sure what it is its located about one inch to the left of my right ankle and its painful at times and at other times it doesn t hurt at all. should i be worried? the lump is about a centimeter large and sticks out and is visible just looking down at my ankle.

Hi,

You should undergo X-ray ankle ap and lateral view. As there may be a hairline fracture.

If there is no fracture then take an anti-inflammatory drug as tab. Diclofenac and antibiotic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi,
