Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Bruised Knee

I fell two nights ago. I fell on my right knee and within seconds just below my knee was very swollen and bruised. In the middle it isn't bruised but all around it. It is sore to walk and bend my knee. It is a little difficult to move some of my toes. Do you recommend an Xray?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Injury to knee like patella/patellar tendon or meniscus/ligament of knee can be suspected.X ray should be taken to knee at least in two projections and a skyline projection to rule out the injury. In case of any hearthrosis aspiration should be done also. You can do icing, immobilization by elastic bandaging and keep knee elevated to decrease swelling.NSAIDs like ketorolac is usually given for pain.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
