Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Jaw Caused By Wisdom Teeth Removal

I got my bottom 2 wisdom teeth out 6 days ago and as the swelling went down, I noticed I could feel a bone-like lump on the jawline when I touch it and can't tell if it is actual bone or just stiffened muscle. Does removing wisdom teeth make the jaw bone swell up too? Can the surgery affect your jawline? Will this lump go away?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain a lump over the jawline after wisdom tooth extraction seems to be most probably due to Hematoma formation that occurs due to rupture of blood vessels and accumulation of blood into soft tissues leading to formation of a hard lump...

It will resolve gradually on you need not to worry.

Do alternate warm and cool compresses over the swelling..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Avoid touching the lump again and again to prevent it from becoming sore..

If it does not regress in a week consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
