Suggest Treatment For Swelling At The Incision Site On The Calf

I am on round 2 of stiches in my calf after having a small bump removed (tested fine). The skin didn t hold together after the first round of stiches were taken out. My leg feels like it s swollen. I had them put in yesterday, more stiches this time and I think he added some internal dissolvable ones. Is the swelling normal? I redressed it this morning and it looked fine.

Hi,

Slight swelling will always be there due to local inflammation. This happens because of removal of the "lump", handling of the tissue and muscles. That swelling will subside in next 3 to 4 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar
