Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Discoloration In Eye After Injury

Yesterday I was trimming trees and a small branch hit my eye. It hurt and it also felt like something got in my dye. I used an eye cup to rinse out my eye and it helped a little. However, today it is swollen under the eye and is a little discolored. Is this a black eye? Should I go to the doctor?

Thanks for your consultation at HCM !!
I have gone through your history and as your physician I can completely understand your health concerns....
Yes , most probably you have got black eye secondary to trauma to the eye... You should now take rest and use painkillers.. You can also use antiinflammatory eye drops along with eye drops antibiotics....
The swelling mostly resolves within two weeks so you got to be patient with it...
If it gets worse or you feel severe pain with visual disturbances then immediately consult ophthalmologist....
Hope your query is adequately answered if you still have any feel free to ask directly on my profile any time...
Regards and stay safe , may you get well soon
