Suggest Treatment For Strong Vomiting That Lasted A Few Minutes

Yesterday I had a very strong vomit that lasted a few minutes and resulted in my face blood vessels becoming very red on my forehead and on the skin below my eyes. Is there anything I can get to treat? If not, will it eventually go away and how long will it take?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Forceful vomiting can cause dilation or rupture of blood vessels. This will heal, it would take 1 to 2 weeks in most cases though visual improvement may be visible prior to that time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
