Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain After Roundworm Infection And Indigestion
My son who is 7 yrs old is having stomach pain from last 14 days.In stool test pinworm and roundworm infection came.Womiban was prescribed for three weeks....two days in a week.One dose is left.His ultrasound and urine test results were normal.After so many days there is no relief in pain .Pain is not continuous its time varies from 5 to 10 mins three four times in a day.Dr said pain is due to indigestion and infection due to worms.He also said there is gas problem but they will not give medicine for child of this age.This will be cured by physical activity. For pain DROTIN syrup is prescribed but only on severe pain..Today dr has given RANIDOM PD syrup..He said everything is ok we should not worry...but sir there is no relief in pain...he is not going to school..According to Dr he is ok but he is not ok because of pain.please suggest the solution for gas also.

If your son is not getting relief in pain with the treatment given to him, then repeat stool testing is required for any other parasitic infection, particularly for amoebiasis or giardiasis. Even if the report is negative for these parasites and if the pain is still present, I will advise you to take the treatment for these infections under guidance of your doctor.
Many a times even with infection with these parasites, stool sample may not show. these parasites even with repeated testing. Treatment with metronidazole, tinidazole or ornidazole may be required in doses, advised by your pediatrician.
