Good day,
Can we talk about the
hypertension first as uncontrolled
high blood pressure can make you feel dizzy. I would start by immediately limiting the sodium in your diet to between 1,500 - 2,300 mg/day. Not feeling well you may be overdoing the sodium from canned soup? A tsp. of salt contains 2300 mg of sodium as
sodium chloride. It is also added to processed foods, soups, instant dinners, etc. Read the labels.
Antibiotics will frequently worsen some of the symptoms you described. If you are still running a
fever after being on antibiotics then perhaps you are not on the correct one.
Keep hydrated due to the fever. Because you are
bloating, you may not feel like drinking fluids. Get them anyway you can - popsicles, jello, flavored water . . .8 - 10 cups per day and I am hoping the bloating will subside with the decrease in sodium.
Cranberry juice might alleviate some urinary discomfort. It works for some of my patients.
I hope I have given you some ideas to make you more comfortable. Good luck and best wishes. . .Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
