Suggest Treatment For Stiffness In Hand When Suffering From Chickengunya

Hello Dr.Andrew, My mother got chickengunya a month back. she has got a stiff right hand and shoulder as the after effects of the disease. the hand and shoulder gives a restlessness esp during night when she gets to bed for sleep and during day time the movement and activity with the right hand is very difficult. want to know if this common and would physiotherapy or any other suggested treatment that could help.

After going through your query I concluded that your mother has got reactive arthritis following viral fever. It is very common. I generally treat patients with reactive arthritis after viral fever by injection triamcilone 40 mg weekly till pain is there along with analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief.
